NAMES (GENESIS to DEUTERONOMY)


Numerous designations and combinations of designations appear in the Old Testament, and the following list is by no means exhaustive, neither in the number of designations nor in the number of times each is used. It is provided to show the numerous ways God is spoken of and how the names, titles, and designations speak of God, revealing who He is, and revealing aspects of His relationship to His people. The references also provide at least an impression of the location of the designations and the relative frequency or lack of frequency of their appearance in the Old Testament.
