CHRISTIAN FREEDOM AND RESPONSIBILITY

An enduring question for the believer is the proper relationship of his individual freedom to his personal responsibility. How is the believer to relate in peace and wisdom to a fellow believer?

On the one hand, a believer is not to flaunt his freedom in the face of another’s reticence; but, on the other hand, a believer’s freedom is not to be limited by a believer who continually practices a legalistic form of spirituality. Paul confronted this dilemma in the early Church and issued some guidelines that need to be understood and heeded today.
