THEOLOGY
THEOLOGY IS THE STUDY OF TRUTH
The proper starting point in any conversation, theological or otherwise, is God; if God is not the foundation for the exchange and if He is not the basis for the parameters of the conversation, than the discussion will ultimately be erroneous and, therefore, fruitless. And the proper position regarding God is twofold: one, He is; and, two, He is the Self-Revealing God who reveals Himself.
Since God, the God of Truth, has given a Revelation, Truth is the best word to describe the Revelation of God. Man, therefore, has not been left alone. Light has shown in darkness, and Truth has been given to man—both personally and propositionally.
The study of Truth in all of its dimensions is the work of Theology.
